EMMERDALE legend Amy Nuttall has made a rare comment about family life after “taking back her love rat ex”.

The Sun was first to reveal in 2023 that the actress, 44, was left “shocked and crying every day” after husband Andrew Buchan, 47, fell for his Better co-star Leila Farzad, 44, and embarked on an affair.

However, in 2024, Amy “took her cheating husband back” for a third time, despite her heartbreak.

Now, in a rare interview, the actress, who wed Broadchurch star Andrew in 2012, gave an insight into what family life is like now.

The couple have a daughter and a son, but choose to keep their identities private.

But speaking to OK! about balancing motherhood and her career, Amy, who shot to fame in Emmerdale in the early noughties, said: “Like many families with working parents, you figure it out. We’re all winging it. It’s a constant juggle. You just make it work.

“I made a conscious decision to be around them a lot and I’m lucky that I am able to be around them a lot.’

“For me, the balance works, because I get to go away occasionally and I focus on myself for a little bit [doing what I love.] But most of the time, I’m mummy.”

One topic that was not up for discussion in Amy’s interview with the glossy magazine was her husband and his affair.

“I am a private person. I don’t consider myself someone who wants to air my everyday life on social media – no judgement to people who do,” she said.

Amy and Andrew originally had ended their marriage in February 2023 after he walked out on his wife and moved in with on-screen lover Leila.

The pair briefly reconciled before splitting for a second time in August that same year.

But by April 2024, Amy confirmed that she was back with Andrew.

It came when she talked about her yearly salary with The Sunday Times.

“Generally speaking, in the last financial year — what can I tell you? — below a hundred grand, but I’m married so it all goes into one pot. So it’s not as scary because I can lean on that,” she said.

She went on to confirm the couple still owned the family home together.

“I’m the joint owner of our comfortable family home in Buckinghamshire,” Amy said. “We owned a smaller house before.”
