Linger: Limerick Festival of Food, Heritage and Place is Limerick’s newest food festival and is set to run this weekend with more than 25 events happening across the city and county.
From long-table dining and food trails to family activities, demonstrations, talks and tours, the festival promises something for foodies of all ages.
And with some events already sold out, organisers are encouraging people to check what’s still available and get booking.
The inaugural festival will spotlight the people and produce behind Limerick’s food culture.
There’ll be outdoor dining on Nicholas Street, food experiences at King John’s Castle, and the Linger International Food Hub at Wickham Way.

One of the big festival highlights, the Fire Feast, brings outdoor dining into the heart of the city, with food cooked over an open fire, live music and plenty of atmosphere.
The Taste Limerick Tour will also take visitors on a food-filled walking tour, with stops and stories centred around local food and drink.
King John’s Castle is getting in on the action too, with food experiences, demonstrations, workshops and talks taking place throughout the day.
There are options for both adults and children, including cupcake and chocolate activities.
For a relaxed Sunday, the Milk Market is a good place to head.
The programme includes food, demonstrations, workshops and family activities, making it an easy option for a few hours of weekend fun.
Over at Wickham Way, visitors can experience food and flavours from different cultures, with food stalls, demonstrations, workshops, tastings and cultural performances.
Local bakers will be putting their soda bread skills to the test as part of a large competition.
With the festival only days away, anyone hoping to attend ticketed events is being encouraged to “plan ahead and secure places” where possible.
Mayor of Limerick, John Moran, said: “Limerick is certainly not slowing down.
He added: “Linger is about putting our fantastic local producers, growers, bakers, brewers, chefs and food businesses front and centre, while also telling the stories of the places and communities behind them.”
Linger has been developed by Limerick City and County Council as part of the EU-funded SLOWTOUR project, with food being used as a way to connect people with the city’s heritage, communities and “unique sense of place”.
