Gardaí in County Donegal are investigating a number of hit and run incidents apparently involving the same car.
Gardaí said the incidents occurred on Friday, September 4 and involved a black Seat Leon with a partial registration of ‘YLZ’.
During the first incident, a driver was waiting at a set of temporary traffic lights on the N15 road near Castlefin on that date at approximately 7.22pm.
The light turned green and they proceeded onwards only to be met head on by the Seat Leon in question which was travelling in the opposite direction from Killygordon to Castlefin.
Gardaí said a collision occurred between the two cars and the Seat Leon left the scene immediately.
No injuries were reported.
On the same date at approximately 7.34pm, a driver reported that the Seat Leon in question had overtaken their car “in a dangerous manner” in Liscooley and had collided with the front driver’s side of their car while doing so.
The direction of travel for both cars was Killygordon to Liscooley.
Gardaí said the Seat Leon left the scene of the collision immediately and turned off in Liscooley to travel in the direction of Carnowen.
No injuries were reported.
Gardaí later received a report in relation to the dangerous manner in which this car was being driven in the area of the Derry Road, Raphoe on that same date at approximately 9.35pm.
A Garda spokesperson appealed for anyone with information about any of the incidents to get in touch.
“We appeal to anybody who may have witnessed any of these incidents to get in touch with Gardaí in Ballyshannon on 071-9858530.
“If anyone travelled between Killygordon and Liscooley or in the Carnowen area with a dash-cam between 7pm and 8pm on that date, we ask them to make the footage available to us.”
