Coronation Street was hit by another death in last night’s episode as assault victim Luke Cookson (Isaac James) succumbed to his injuries after saying just a few words.
During the episode, Kit Green (Jacob Roberts) visited Luke in hospital to interview him about his attack and, despite his mother’s hesitation, Luke agreed.
A few scenes later, it was revealed that Luke had died as a result of a slow bleed on the brain.
Now, actor Isaac James has taken to Instagram to make light of his very short stint on the ITV soap.
‘said 4 words and then died in tonight’s coronation street… iconic if you ask me,’ he wrote beside a carousel of behind the scenes images.
The actor has actually sold himself short, with Luke having said five words, addressing both his mum and Kit.
‘It’s fine, Mum. Sit down,’ he said.
Despite the length of his appearance in the show, he certainly made an impact, with Isaac’s followers taking to the comments section to offer him praise.
‘Its not about how big the dialogue is its how you use it,’ one said, while another wrote: ‘Get the boy a Bafta!!!’
Though Luke won’t make any more appearances on screen, his murder is set to play a role in upcoming scenes, as Lisa Connor-Swain (Vicky Myers) puts pressure on Kit to find his killer.
Next week, Kit chases after the boy they suspect murdered Luke, spoiling for a fight, and the altercation leaves him with two black eyes.
Will Kit manage to bring Luke’s killer to justice, or will he get away?
