EastEnders spoilers follow for Tuesday’s (September 8) episode, which can now be streamed on BBC iPlayer. The episode in question will air at 7:30pm.

Max Branning (Jake Wood) collapsed to the floor mid-wedding speech, just as he was seemingly about to end things with new wife Cindy Beale (Michelle Collins) in order to be with Linda Carter (Kellie Bright).

The lothario, as viewers know, was cheating on Cindy with Priya Nandra-Hart (Sophie Khan Levy) for months. Linda, who had only just declared her love for Max, was appalled over such a discovery and thus raced to the wedding venue to stop proceedings.

But upon her arrival, she couldn’t go through with it. Instead, she took up a seat and watched as Max said ‘I do’ to Cindy. Later, she berated him and Priya over their lies and remained conflicted over whether or not to inform Cindy of her new groom’s cheating ways.

Max, meanwhile, told the former Queen Vic landlady that he would leave Cindy at once if she wanted him to. Linda, however, made it clear that it’s too late because he married her.

The stress of the day proved overwhelming for the groom, who told Oscar (Pierre Counihan-Moullier) that he’d made a mistake in marrying Cindy.

As it came time to do speeches, Cindy branded Max her soulmate, believing she’d finally found her one true love.

Max, meanwhile, took the microphone and talked about how he and Cindy had met their match in one another but it was clear he was on the cusp of making a big revelation as he glanced at Linda.

Before he could do anything, however, he collapsed to the floor, leaving all those in attendance worried sick. Will Max be okay?

The long answer is yes given that he is the focus of New Year’s Day when he walks down the aisle once again – to marry who is the question! – but as for the immediate future, we’re yet to know what exactly happened to him on this current wedding day.

Will he manage to tell Cindy that he wants to be with Linda? And if so, how will Cindy react?
