An application for the construction of a new camper van park in Bunclody, Co Wexford has been submitted by a Mr Ciaran Kelly. Located on Ryland Road the proposed new facility would consist of 20 camper van pitches, and a visitors building centre comprising a reception, communal kitchen, visitors room, and toilet facilities.
There would also be a waste disposal unit, external bin storage, and new vehicular entrance, access roads, and footpaths including pedestrian crossing point, and car parking. The proposed works will also include the removal of an existing storage shed on the site at Ryland Road.
The application was made to Wexford County Council on August 26 with a decision expected on October 20. Members of the public are invited to make submissions and observations regarding the plans up to and including September 29.
Should it be approved, this would potentially be the second camper van/motorhome park to begin development in Wexford in 2027. A separate application for a 23-bay motorhome park in Marshmeadows, New Ross is currently the subject of a Natura Impact Statement (NIS) and is expected to be submitted to An Coimisiún Pleanála for consideration early next year.
