There was plenty of family fun in Co Wexford recently as the community gathered to celebrate the end of the summer at St. Aidan’s Services Summer Bash.
Families, staff and fellow service users gathered at the Millands campus of St. Aidan’s Services at their garden centre in Gorey for the inaugural event.
The Summer Bash event was organised as a new fundraiser for St. Aidan’s Services, who have become a well-respected organisation in Gorey through its support of people with a wide range of needs to live meaningful lives.
A representative from St. Aidan’s Services said great fun was had on the day, with several activities on the day, including spin the wheel, foot darts and a delicious cake stall to name a few.
“Thanks to everybody for the fantastic donations, the Gorey community spirit is well and truly alive and kicking,” they said.
On the day, attendees were treated to live musical performances, refreshments and a traditional BBQ to ring out the Summer period. Meanwhile, there were plenty of activities for the kids including face painting, name the teddy and a guess the sweets in the jar game.
Following the success of the Summer Bash, St. Aidan’s Services is hoping to continue the fundraiser each year. “St Aidan’s are aiming to have this family fun day on an annual basis, making it bigger and better each year.”
All proceeds raised on the day will go directly back into funding services provided by St. Aidan’s Services.
