Ardee Rugby Club has lodged plans for a significant upgrade of its facilities at Debidy Lane in Ardee.

The club is seeking planning permission from Louth County Council to convert an existing ground-floor storeroom into two changing rooms, complete with toilets and shower facilities.

The proposed development would also see a new first-floor meeting room constructed above the changing rooms, along with additional windows on the eastern and western sides of the existing building.

Plans include the removal of the existing roof and its replacement with a new mono-pitch metal deck roof, which would be between 1.5 metres and 2.7 metres higher than the current structure.

The application also proposes partially building up an existing external doorway and installing two new windows in the opening, along with associated site works.

Separately, the club is seeking retention permission for a detached single-storey portacabin currently being used to provide a meeting room, toilets and canteen facilities.

The planning application, reference 26/60574, was lodged with Louth County Council on August 24.
