One person has been injured in a shooting at a home in Richmond Hill on Monday.
York Regional Police responded to a call for a shooting inside the home in the Yonge Street and Weldrick Road West area shortly after 7 a.m.
Emergency crews found a victim in the home who was taken to hospital with injuries that were not life threatening.
Police say the suspects fled the area.
Residents are advised that there will be a large police presence in the area as police investigate and officers will be canvassing for video and witnesses.
Drivers are asked to avoid the area.
SHOOTING -7:07 a.m. -Yonge Street/Weldrick Road West -YRP and other emergency services responded to a shooting inside a residence in the area -A victim was located in the residence suffering from non-life threatening injuries -The victim has been transported to the hospital -Suspects have fled the area -Expect a large police presence in and around this area -Officers will be canvassing for video and witnesses -Please avoid the area
