Gardaí have seized a 3D printer manufactured gun during an Operation Tara raid in Cork.
Officers searched a residential property in Ballymacoda in east Cork and seized both the home-made firearm and a quantity of cash and drugs.
Gardaí seized a total of €7,200 worth of suspected cannabis and cocaine as well as the 3D printed firearm.
The seizure followed an operation on Friday in conjunction with Operation Tara, the national anti-drug crackdown.
The operation was conducted by members of the Cork County Divisional Drugs Unit and Serious Crime Unit under Operation Tara.
Approximately €4,800 worth of cannabis and €2,400 worth of cocaine were seized.
However, greatest concern has focused on the recovery of yet another 3D printed firearm in Ireland.
The guns are easier to obtain than firearms smuggled into Ireland as part of drug shipments from overseas.
Both the drugs and the firearm have been sent for forensic and technical analysis in a bid to identify their origin.
A man in his 30s was arrested and detained.
The young man is scheduled to appear at Dungarvan District Court on Monday.
