This year, the window slams shut at 11pm on Tuesday, September 1 for Premier League and EFL clubs.

And there is a chance some of the biggest signings of the day require a deal sheet.

What is a deal sheet?

A deal sheet allows clubs to confirm the signing of new players after the 11pm deadline providing much of the paperwork is done.

Teams can complete a deal sheet at 9pm earliest and the last must be submitted at 11pm.

It must state the player on the move, the two clubs involved in the transfer and the fee.

Without it, a last-gasp transfer cannot go ahead and it is not a legally binding contract.

Once it arrives on Premier League or EFL chiefs’ desks, clubs have a further two hours – until 1am – to get a deal sorted and complete the remaining documentation.

  • Serie A: Tuesday, 1 September – 19:00
  • Bundesliga: Tuesday, 1 August – 19:00
  • La Liga: Tuesday, 1 September – 22:59
  • Scottish Premiership: Thursday, 3 September – 17:00
  • Women’s Super League: Thursday, 3 September – 23:00
  • Saudi Pro League: Sunday, 6 September – TBC
