JUDD TRUMP was not in the mood for talking after tumbling out of the British Open semi-finals.
Trump was flying high after thrashing Zhao Xintong 5-1 in the quarter-finals at Cheltenham on Saturday.
But he came crashing back down to Earth when he suffered a shock 6-3 defeat to Jak Jones the following day to end his dreams of snatching the title for the first time.
The Welsh world No31 stormed into a 3-1 lead with breaks of 94, 95 and 95 before surviving a Trump comeback attempt to set up a final clash with Mark Selby.
And it was clear that Trump was feeling the pain as he gave a bizarrely curt interview after the heartbreaking loss.
When asked for his reaction to the loss, he told Channel 5: “Yeah disappointing really.”

When asked to elaborate on his stunted reaction, Trump said: “It was just the way the frame was planned out really.
“I think there were a lot of times when we both made mistakes, but it seemed that I got punished a little bit more.”
This one could be set to haunt Trump for a while, with the 37-year-old shutting his interviewer down when asked if he was looking forward to getting back to the baize.
He bluntly responded: “Not really, no. It’s never nice losing, so no there’s no positives to take from it. Just play the next one.”

He is currently stuck in a rut, having won just one ranking event since the 2024 UK Championship.
