COPS have confirmed that a three-month-old girl died in a woodland while camping with her family.
Emergency services rushed to Strawberry Lane, Great Wyrley in Staffordshire at 8.45am yesterday following reports of a child in cardiac arrest.
Midlands Air Ambulance attended the scene but sadly the child was pronounced dead by paramedics.
Roads around the area were closed throughout the day as detectives began piecing together what had happened.
Cops are still in the area today, carrying out enquiries to understand more about what happened.
The child’s tragic death is currently being treated as “unexplained” and a probe continues.

Detective Inspector Katie Gregory said: “While the investigation remains at an early stage, this is an isolated incident and we understand that the child’s family was camping in the area.
“The death is being treated as unexplained at this time.”
