ADAMA TRAORE has scored a horror own goal on a nightmare LaLiga debut for Deportivo.
Fans have been left stunned as Traore, 30, shockingly headed the ball over his own goalkeeper against Villarreal on Saturday.
Villarreal captain Gerard Moreno, 34, fired a cross into the box for Canadian star Tajon Buchanan, 27, in the 76th minute at El Madrigal.
Traore then came rushing over to win the aerial contest as he attempted to head the ball into the stands.
But the winger misjudged his effort as the ball was lobbed over his own keeper for a bizarre own goal to hand Villarreal a 2-1 lead.
The Deportivo star appeared in disbelief as fans questioned the strange moment on social media.

A second shared: “But what is Adama doing in that position?”
Traore joined Deportivo ahead of the 2026-27 LaLiga season after a mass exodus at West Ham.
He had only joined the Hammers in January on a £2million deal after two-and-a-half seasons in West London with Fulham.

Now several fans have suggested that the newly-promoted Deportivo have already seen the best of their new signing.
A third fan said: “He has never took this type of header in opposition box ever.”
Another commented: “I don’t think he would have scored that if he were the one attacking.”
Fortunately for Traore, striker Zakaria Eddahchouri, 26, was able to level the scores just three minutes later.
Ex-Arsenal and Chelsea star Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, 37, then found an 88th-minute winner for the visitors.
It marks Deportivo’s second win of the season as they sit fourth in LaLiga after four matches.
Meanwhile, Villarreal have only managed to secure two draws in their opening fixtures to sit 16th in the league.
Traore’s Deportivo will next face Getafe at Estadio Coliseum on Sunday, September 13.
