Drogheda residents will be given the opportunity to put forward their own ideas for the future of the town as part of this month’s Festival of Ideas.
Drogheda Vacancy and Dereliction will host a special ‘Have Your Say’ event at Odd Mollies on Saturday, September 19 at 7.30pm, inviting people to discuss the changes they believe could make Drogheda a better place to live, work and visit.
Speakers from a variety of organisations and backgrounds across Drogheda will take to the stage during the evening, with each invited to make their case for what could be done to improve the town as it looks towards its future as a city.
Organisers hope the event will also encourage members of the audience to join the conversation and exchange their own ideas.
The aim is to create a space where conversations about Drogheda’s future can begin and potentially develop into projects and initiatives capable of making a real difference locally.
“Speakers from different organisations and backgrounds across Drogheda will be introduced on stage to come up and make their case for what can be done for our future city from their own unique perspectives,” organisers said.
“We hope to provide a space to allow everyone present to discuss these ideas amongst each other, starting dialogues that can end up bringing some of these ideas into reality.”
The evening will also feature live musical accompaniment from Sophie Moon.
The event forms part of the wider Drogheda Festival of Ideas programme and entry is free, although those planning to attend are encouraged to register for tickets in advance.
Organisers are also inviting people who are interested in speaking at the event to get in touch.
