Katie Taylor put a massive cherry on top of her legendary career after beating Flora Pilli by decision to become a three-time undisputed champion of the world.
Taylor made a spine-tingling entrance in front of 83,000 people before putting on a clinical display against the game Frenchwoman to win by unanimous decision, sending the crowd wild.
The judges scored the bout 100-90, 100-90, 98-91 as Taylor earned the fairytale ending her career deserved.
“Croke Park, we did it! We brought boxing back to Croke Park. Thank you so much!” she said at the end of the fight at the home of the GAA.
Matchroom promoter Eddie Hearn said: “This will be the greatest atmosphere for a boxing fight, and guess what, Croke Park, you did it.
“Katie is the greatest inspiration I’ve ever met and the greatest Irish sportsperson of all time, she made this happen.
“While we still have 83,000 people here, I’ll let Katie share this moment with you,” he said before hugging the Bray superstar and exiting the stage, leaving Taylor to walk around the ring and wave to her adoring supporters.
