PREMIER LEAGUE fans have been urged to ditch the trains after being hit by a nightmare journey home from Hull.
Aston Villa supporters are travelling to the MKM Stadium for Saturday’s 5:30pm clash with the Tigers.
But thousands heading to East Yorkshire have been warned they could face major problems getting back to Birmingham after the final whistle.
Villa issued an update on Saturday morning revealing there is only one suitable rail service connecting Hull with Birmingham New Street after the match.
That journey leaves Hull at 8:25pm before supporters are required to change at Sheffield.
Fans using the service are then due to reach Birmingham at 11.07pm.

But the club warned the train is expected to be extremely busy, while passengers also face a tight connection in Sheffield.
Villa told supporters: “Supporters are advised to use alternative methods of transport than the train when travelling back from Hull.”
They added: “This service is likely to be overcrowded and has a tight connection at Sheffield.

The warning comes just hours before kick-off, with almost 2,500 Villa fans expected to fill the away section at the MKM Stadium.
And those without travel already arranged could now face a scramble to find another route home, with places on organised coaches likely to have been sorted well before matchday.
Hull has already been the scene of travel misery for visiting supporters this season.
Manchester United fans were left stranded during their 2-0 opening-day defeat after the stadium announcer revealed two services back towards Manchester had been cancelled.
Hull supporters celebrated the news from the stands before mocking their rivals with chants of: “You’re going home in a taxi.”
