LORRIES and holidaymakers are facing huge queues at the Port of Dover as masked protesters block the roads in the area.
Kent Police said officers were scrambled following the disturbance and confirmed they have been “engaging with protesters” at the scene.
P&O Ferries has warned customers that access to the UK’s busiest ferry port is “restricted” amid the chaos in Kent this morning.
In a statement on X, the firm said: “Please be advised that access to the Port of Dover is currently restricted.
“If you miss your sailing, we will get you onto the next when you reach our check-in.”
Commuter Nathan Ditchburn said the group arrived at around 6.45am.

He told KentOnline: “I would say there are around 300 men, maybe more.
“They have blocked off every entrance and exit of the Dover port area, and Jubilee Way is blocked as well.
“It will be causing huge delays for the ferries today.”
National Highways confirmed the A20 is closed in both directions and warned drivers of four miles of queues due to “protest activity”.

Traffic has been stopped moving from the Eastern Docks roundabout to the Court Wood Interchange.
It said: “A20 both directions in Kent between A256 (York Street) & A2 (Jubilee Way).
“Traffic is currently stopped due to protest activity at Dover Port.
“Current delays of up to 30 minutes on the approach, with 4 miles of congestion.”
Dover West Reform councillor Paul King said a “large number of men” had blocked the A20 and told locals to avoid the port area.
Ferry operator DFDS warned passengers of traffic disruption at the port.
It wrote: “We are aware of the current traffic disruption affecting access to the Port.
“Rest assured we will accommodate you onto the next departure once you arrive.”
