A WOMAN in her 70s has tragically died at an Aldi supermarket after collapsing in front of horrified shoppers.
Emergency services rushed to the store yesterday afternoon in a desperate effort to save her life.
The tragedy happened at the Aldi on Bath Road in Worcester shortly after 3.15pm.
Witnesses reported seeing an air ambulance land at nearby before a medic raced towards the shop.
The woman found in a critical condition and emergency service’s immediately began trying to save her.
It is understood a defibrillator at the neighbouring Toby Carvery was also used in an attempt to revive her.

But despite the desperate efforts of emergency crews, there was nothing more that could be done.
The woman was sadly pronounced dead at the scene.
Her death is not being treated as suspicious and cops confirmed there was no third-party involvement.
A West Mercia Police spokesperson said: “We received a call around 3.15pm yesterday afternoon (3 September) with concern for the welfare of a woman in Aldi on Bath Road in Worcester.

“Officers arrived, and despite the best efforts by emergency services, a woman in her 70s was sadly declared dead at the scene.
“Her death is not being treated as suspicious, with no third-party involvement.”
West Midlands Ambulance Service said crews had been sent following reports of a medical incident.
A spokesman said: “We were called to a medical incident at an address on Bath Road in Worcester and sent an ambulance, a paramedic officer and the Midlands Air Ambulance to the scene.
“On arrival, a woman was found in a critical condition.
“Sadly, despite best efforts from crews, nothing could be done to save her, and she was confirmed dead at the scene.”
The incident will have left shoppers and staff deeply distressed after the emergency unfolded inside the supermarket.
Aldi said its colleagues had responded “immediately” in the distressing circumstances.
An Aldi spokesperson said: “We are deeply saddened by this incident, and our thoughts are with the family and friends of the customer at this incredibly difficult time.
“Our colleagues responded immediately to the situation, and we are incredibly proud of our team for their swift actions in such distressing circumstances.
