A POPULAR town centre card shop has launched a “final clearance” sale ahead of its permanent closure next month.
Signs displayed across the storefront offer 70 per cent off savings in-store, with another three locations also launching clearance sales.
Clintons Cards will shut its St Helens store next month, with shoppers spotting an ongoing closing-down sale in-store.
The closure comes amid a major restructuring by the greeting cards company, which has seen a number of stores close.
According to St Helens Star, the decision was prompted by town leaders, who hope to attract new business and investment to the area.
Now, a substantially-sized corner unit will be left empty in the Church Square area of the town centre.

Shoppers visiting the store will have until early October to stock up on greetings cards and gifts during its 70 per cent off “everything must go” sale.
It has also been announced that a Clintons store in Leeds will shut down soon, according to LeedsLive, with signs for 30 per cent off sales posted on its storefront.
Later this month, Clintons will close its Rugby Central branch after 17 years on the high street, as well as the confirmed closure of a Hornchurch store by the end of the year.
First opening in 1968, Clintons Cards currently has over 160 stores across the country, becoming a favourite for Brits looking for greetings cards.

However, the business has made an effort to reduce its high street portfolio in recent years, earmarking “loss-making stores” for closure.
Competitor card chains Cards Galore and Cardzone have also had to close a number of stores in recent months as a result of changing shopping habits and business restructuring efforts.
