One of the country’s largest home care providers has announced its intention to create 30 new caregiver roles across Co Wexford.
With offices in the Clonard Village Centre, Dovida has launched a new recruitment campaign in which it hopes to hire 30 carers to help support more people to live independently at home, while staying connected to their family, friends and communities.
The new roles are set to be a mixture of flexible and fixed-hour positions, with full-time hours also available. According to the company though, flexibility is a huge benefit of the role, with “many of the company’s caregivers choosing their own hours around what best suits their lifestyle”.
“In our experience, a lot of people really like the flexibility the job offers,” Martin Murphy, General Manager of Dovida Wexford, said.
“These roles are particularly popular with people whose children are returning to school or starting school for the first time and those who have other commitments such as studying.
“Of course, there’s always room for people who want to work full-time, and Dovida is a great place to develop a rewarding career in caregiving,” he added.
Previously known as Home Instead Ireland, Dovida currently employs more than 4,000 caregivers nationwide, offering personalised in-home support for older people, people living with disabilities and those recovering from illness or hospital stays.
Given Wexford’s ageing population, demand for homecare services in the model county is likely to rise sharply in the coming years, with providers left scrambling to recruit carers to cope with the increase.
Dovida’s 2026 carer of the year, Emma McGrath recommends the role.
