Wall Street rallied overnight after a senior Federal Reserve official said he would support holding interest rates steady if upcoming data showed inflation pressures were easing. 

Investors then dialled back expectations of another rate rise, helping push US Treasury yields lower and shares higher. 

Back home, ASIC faces a day of parliamentary questioning over its handling of the KPMG audit leaks scandal.

Good morning everyone and happy Friday!

Business reporter Lin Lin here to guide you through the morning on the markets blog, where we cover the latest business, finance and economic news in Australia and globally.

On Wall Street, equities moved higher, while Treasury yields retreated, as investors grew hopeful that the Fed Reserve may leave interest rates unchanged this month following comments from a a senior official at US central bank.

The ASX is expected to follow suit, with futures pointing 0.2% higher. 

The Aussie dollar is hovering around 72 US cents.
