The Gunners tasted title glory for the first time since 2004 – then spent £164million on Bruno Guimaraes, Ezri Konsa and Christos Tzolis.

Fans are frustrated the club did not splash more cash this summer after failing to land superstar attackers Vinicius Jr or Julian Alvarez.
Arsenal banked £114m, with Gabriel Martinelli joining Saudi side Al-Hilal in a club-record £60m deal on Thursday.
Leandro Trossard, Gabriel Jesus, Christian Norgaard, Jakub Kiwior and Karl Hein have also exited.
Now chief executive Richard Garlick is determined to build on last season’s success ahead of a bright future.

Garlick said: “I dream of us being serial champions, of us repeating what we did last year and going one better, maybe, in the Champions League.
“This is a period of dominance. You could call it the start of a dynasty. We are aiming to dominate football on every level for the next few years.”
Garlick is a hugely respected figure in football having arrived from the Premier League in 2021 before being appointed chief executive last year.
Speaking to the Men in Blazers podcast, he said: “The ambition has always been there.

Garlick’s positive comments contrast with supporters who fear that Mikel Arteta’s men have rested on their laurels during the close season.
Some of the fanbase are livid at failing to land a left winger like Real Madrid’s Vini Jr or central striker such as Atletico Madrid’s Alvarez following a number of departures.
The club’s Italian sporting director Andrea Berta – a slightly fearsome character – was hailed as a genius a few weeks ago but has now been accused of dithering.

Arteta will speak to the media on Friday ahead of the massive home Premier League game against Xabi Alonso’s new-look Chelsea.
And the Gunners boss will be asked about the transfer strategy, particularly the club’s firepower.
Arsenal do look light in the centre with Viktor Gyokeres and Kai Havertz their only real options without putting square pegs into round holes.
It would seem a strong bet that Arsenal have identified another No 9 but he will not be available until either January or next summer.

Asked about his biggest challenge, Garlick added: “It is making sure everybody understands that this is the start of the next chapter – not the end of something.
“We are not going to sit here and pat ourselves on the back and say, ‘We’ve cracked this, let’s put our feet up’.”
