ENGLAND chief Thomas Tuchel’s World Cup tactics came under the microscope during a secret inquest at St George’s Park last week.
The Three Lions notched their best performance in the tournament since 1966 by bagging bronze.

But Tuchel, 53, came under fire when England threw away their lead and suffered a last-gasp semi-final defeat to Argentina after going defensive.
And the former Chelsea boss headed to St George’s Park to reflect on the summer extravaganza.
Football Association staff are preparing a huge report into the successes and failings as England chased glory.
It will feature conclusions on Tuchel’s semi-final tactics – which were heavily criticised in the aftermath – as well as his decision to ruthlessly snub big names when selecting his 26-man squad.

Cole Palmer, Phil Foden, Harry Maguire and Trent Alexander-Arnold were among the surprise omissions.
England’s tournament base was also reviewed and findings are set to be included in the report, which is due to be handed to the FA hierarchy later this year.
Tuchel was joined by assistant Anthony Barry, fitness specialist Nico Mayer, goalkeeper coach Hilario Henrique and analyst James Melbourne for a three-day analysis of the World Cup last week.
FA technical director John McDermott was also at St George’s Park for the discussions.

The inquest took place behind closed doors after it was previously revealed a probe would be launched.
And Tuchel is in line to head to another meeting with the FA’s performance advisory group next week.
The likes of rugby league legend Sir Kevin Sinfield, Lionesses chief Sarina Wiegman and Rajasthan Royals owner Manoj Badale will have the chance to quiz the German about the World Cup.
There is a feeling that Tuchel needs to regain trust after some members of the squad were furious with his second half tactics against Argentina.

But the one-time Champions League winner is still being backed by his bosses to spearhead England to Euro 2028 victory.
Tuchel has been tasked to look back at his tactics and squad selection ahead of facing newly-crowned world champions Spain on September 26.
